Moments Like These

Today was rough. Without wanting to go into much detail about it, I will point out something truly special. True friends that being of which I speak. On a day where leaving the state is a welcoming solution, having friends jump in and provide support can be an immeasurable aid. True friends will always be true friends, no matter how much one may be incessantly babbling at the time. True friends are there for each other, both ways. I’m thankful for the true friends I have.

Blah Blah Valentine's

Yes, yes. Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes. Yes. “Fuck Valentine’s Day.” Yes, we all know this. Thank you. Enough with the bulletins already two days prior to the holiday, bulletin board flooded and aggression reigning supreme. You know what? I don’t have a Valentine this year, either. In fact? I’ve NEVER had a Valentine’s Day where I could sit down and spend the night with that special someone and really get the most out of the holiday. The two years I’ve had a Valentine, they were in a another city because I was away at school. Yet, how is it that I’m not turning everything over the next two days to a foul hatred for the holiday and those who will celebrate it?

Try this: take it easy, calm down, and take a step back. You’ll be fine. Go out and have some fun with friends. Give your best friend a Valentine. I don’t know, do something. Do be sure to take note that sitting at home wallowing in your sadness will not propel your situation in a forward moving direction. No. I will go so far as to say it will hinder it.

It was fun

Cassie recently went home after coming over and doing a shoot with me. It was a lot of fun, and we laughed and got along so well, it was really, really refreshing. I worked on improving my lighting techniques, and once I added a large reflector to the scene (a la a big dry erase board), the quality of the shots greatly improved. I also tried to cut loose and have fun with it, and I’m really glad I did. I put the results from the shoot in my deviantArt gallery.

I just want to say THANK YOU to Cassie for being so awesome!
