So I got to trying out something new just now: perhaps “regular” even “pointless” posts will get me in to regular “habit” of writing. I don’t care much to use the word “habit” because I don’t want writing to become a mundane and forced activity.

Today was rough. Without wanting to go into much detail about it, I will point out something truly special. True friends that being of which I speak. On a day where leaving the state is a welcoming solution, having friends jump in and provide support can be an immeasurable aid. True friends will always be true friends, no matter how much one may be incessantly babbling at the time. True friends are there for each other, both ways. I’m thankful for the true friends I have.

Yes, yes. Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes. Yes. “Fuck Valentine’s Day.” Yes, we all know this. Thank you. Enough with the bulletins already two days prior to the holiday, bulletin board flooded and aggression reigning supreme. You know what? I don’t have a Valentine this year, either. In fact? I’ve NEVER had a Valentine’s Day where I could sit down and spend the night with that special someone and really get the most out of the holiday. The two years I’ve had a Valentine, they were in a another city…

Cassie recently went home after coming over and doing a shoot with me. It was a lot of fun, and we laughed and got along so well, it was really, really refreshing. I worked on improving my lighting techniques, and once I added a large reflector to the scene (a la a big dry erase board), the quality of the shots greatly improved. I also tried to cut loose and have fun with it, and I’m really glad I did. I put the results from the shoot in my deviantArt gallery.

My mom just got back from the VA Hospital after meeting with her brothers and sisters and doctors over the condition of my grandfather. I don’t know his age, but he fought in the Korean War when he was still very young. He has suffered with Multiple Sclerosis for most of his life, inhibiting him to a wheel chair for countless years. My mom grew up hearing from doctor’s that he may not be around in the years to come; she is now 42 years old and he’s still with us, but is now slipping quickly.

Yes, it’s true. A man shot a duck, injuring it in the wing and leg. Thinking it was dead, he took it home and put in it the fridge. Two days later, the man’s wife gets quite the scare when she opens the fridge and the duck lifts its head up. They proceeded to take the duck to the vet (yes, the vet) after having shot it with the intent of eating it two days earlier. The vet told them the duck probably survived due to its low metabolism.
